Conference Venue

Auckland University of Technology - Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau

The 2024 NZSTI Conference will be held at Auckland University of Technology - Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau. AUT’s city campus is centrally located in the heart of Auckland’s university and arts district.

The conference spaces are located in the Sir Paul Reeves (WG) Building, which has won multiple architecture and design awards. Featuring open spaces and natural light, this complex was designed to integrate previously separate spaces into a unified whole. The building now links five buildings and two plazas around an impressive multi-level atrium, incorporating amenities and spaces for study and socialising. It houses the Communication Studies and Future Environments schools as well as the campus library, and has been described as the ‘beating heart’ of AUT’s city campus.

The Sir Paul Reeves Building also incorporates a range of versatile conference, function and performance spaces. Our conference will be held in the airy, spacious conference centre, which includes dedicated conference rooms and areas for socialising. We will also be using the stunning Te Iringa - Wave Room, featuring a distinctive curved timber ceiling. The two spaces are connected by an open staircase (elevator access also available).

The campus is within easy walking distance of many hotels and the Waitematā (Britomart) train station, and is served by city buses. There is limited car parking available but there are plenty of parking options nearby.

Entrances to the complex are at 35 Wellesley Street East (Main Entry Gate 3) and 2 Governor Fitzroy Place.
